The Square Festival at Ingmar Bergman’s Place Is Back – Bigger and a Little Wilder

Last year, Chez Jolie, the wine bar (Bâtard), Teatergrillen, and Frippe put their brilliant minds together and kicked off a party at Ingmar Bergman’s Place that no one really wanted to leave. Sunshine, laughter, great tunes, and cold drinks at the intersection of Ingmar Bergmans Gata and Nybrogatan — it was an instant hit.
And now we’re taking it up a notch: on May 31, we’re back, this time with our neighbor Noppe joining the fun.

“Expectations are sky-high! Last year, we delivered a true city celebration — sunshine, laughter, live music, and ice-cold drinks. Being able to build on that together with our amazing neighbors feels absolutely magical.”
— Björn Wahlund, Teatergrillen

Five restaurants, an entire square, and a promise of a day filled with life, laughter, and a little bit of chaos — in the very best way. Of course, all the favorites are making a comeback: the giant paella pan, The Beeters tearing through their grooviest songs, and the raffle where you can win prizes worth bragging about.
But — we’re also bringing in some exciting new elements.

New this year: We’re launching Nybrogatan’s very first Waiters’ Race — a sparkling competition where 8–12 waiters weave their way through an obstacle course, balancing food and drinks on trays while the clock ticks. A high-speed showdown with sharp-eyed judging by top restaurateur Per Nordlind and guaranteed roaring laughter thanks to commentators Nisse Hallberg and Albin Olsson.

“This is pure, raw energy! We love planning, putting on something extra, and making our guests feel like part of the party. The Waiters’ Race is our tribute to ‘La Course des Cafés’ — but of course, with a rockier Nybrogatan twist.”
— Mattias Svensson, Frippe

Throughout the day, the square will be filled with DJs and live bands, the scent of grilled food, the aroma of freshly cooked paella, and a flood of refreshing drinks. Tables and glasses will clink in rhythm with laughter — this is a day you won’t want to miss.

Around every corner of Ingmar Bergman’s Place, our restaurants are gearing up to show just how magical a small corner of Stockholm can become when you mix friends, food, music, and lots of love.

Everyone’s welcome!
See you on May 31 between 12 PM and 8 PM at Ingmar Bergman’s Place.
Come hungry, thirsty, and ready to party.
