On May 30, it’s time once again. For the third consecutive year, Torgfesten takes over Ingmar Bergman’s Square, transforming the Nybrogatan neighbourhood into something far beyond the everyday. Together with Chez Jolie, Frippe, Teatergrillen, and Noppe, Bâtard invites the entire city to a day where food, drinks, and people truly take centre stage.
What once began as an idea between neighbours has now become a natural tradition. An annual marker of the start of summer where the pace picks up, the grills are fired up, and the square fills with life.
“We’re really looking forward to Torgfesten. It’s when we go all in together with our neighbours. The weather is ordered, the grills are ready, and we’re not holding anything back—this will be the party of the year,” says Max Duhs of Bâtard and Mikael Einarsson from Chez Jolie together.
At Bâtard, the Konro grill takes centre stage. Open flames, precise flavours, and a lineup of skewers moving between Asian influences and raw, direct grill energy. Around it, the rest of the square unfolds like a culinary map from French classics and elegant seafood to paella, charcuterie, and Swedish favourites.
It’s a meeting of contrasts, a blend of expressions, and flavours that take space, exactly as it should be.
Throughout the day, the square fills with music from both DJ and live bands. There’s a movement in the air people stopping, հանդիպing, sharing a drink, moving on, then returning again. Someone calls out across the cobblestones, someone else sits down next to a stranger.
Torgfesten is not about a single restaurant. It’s about energy, collaboration, and creating something greater together. A neighbourhood opening up and showing what it can truly be.
On May 30, between 12:00 and 20:00, everyone is welcome. Come as you are, stay as long as you like. Summer starts here.
